h+h americas Code of Conduct

By attending any h+h americas event, you agree to abide by our code of conduct.

Expected Behavior

  • Communicate openly with respect and consideration for others, valuing a diversity of views and opinions.
  • Turn off or silence all electronic devices during presentations and classes
  • Be mindful of your surroundings, and alert security or an event coordinator if you observe unacceptable behavior or a person in distress.

Unacceptable Behavior

It is important that our meeting be a place where no attendee or staff is ever belittled, criticized or made to feel unsafe. The following behavior will not be tolerated:

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form.
  • Physical, written, or verbal abuse of any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, staff member, service provider or other meeting guest before, during, or after the event.

Harassment

h+h americas has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind. If a person engages in harassing behavior, h+h americas staff will take prompt action in any form they deem appropriate, including expulsion from h+h americas with no refund. Our policy applies to everyone at the convention. Exhibitors, attendees, speakers, guests, professionals, press, staff, volunteers, and security are all subject to our anti-harassment policy and will be held to the same standards and disciplinary action.

Harassment includes offensive gestures or verbal comments related to ethnicity, religion, disability, physical appearance, gender, or sexual orientation in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

If a participant or exhibitor engages in harassing behavior, h+h americas leadership may take any action they deem appropriate, ranging from a simple warning to the offender to expulsion from this and future conferences. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please do not hesitate to contact h+h americas organizers at the registration desk (denoted by Event Organizer labels on their nametags) who can work with appropriate h+h americas leadership to resolve the situation.

As needed, h+h americas staff will help participants contact convention center/hotel/venue security or local law enforcement, and otherwise assist those experiencing harassment, to enable them to feel safe for the duration of the conference. We value your attendance and want to make your experience as productive and professionally stimulating as possible.
