Do you have customers who want to know how to use templates but you don’t use them? Are you looking for an easy way to show what a template can do, without getting on the sewing machine? Join me as I show you simple movements to demonstrate and sell templates/rulers for machine quilting easily.

Learn the basics of both Foundation Paper Piecing and English Paper Piecing (and what’s the difference between these techniques) from Carolina Moore, Author of the Ultimate Paper Piecing Guide (Landauer, August 2023). Fabulous class for instructors and shop owners wanting to learn basic techniques to teach in shops and classes. Each registrant will be provided a kit with the basic materials needed to try your hand at both of these fun quilting techniques.

12:30 PM – 1:30 PM | Basic Botanical Embroidery Kits Inspired by Fine Art

Enjoy completing this peony paint-by-numbers style kit of one of Kate Wyatt’s botanical watercolor paintings. Kate is a painter and avid hobbyist who created these kits when she couldn’t find patterns to stitch that she liked. During this session, expect to learn some basic stitch types to get started on your hoop. You won’t finish the hoop during the session, but you’ll leave with the confidence and ability to finish it at home.

Kits will be provided: DMC full-skein embroidery floss, pre-printed linen/canvas fabric, 8” wooden hoop, embroidery needles, and a printed color guide. A QR code links you to a PDF download where the full written instructions, stitch diagrams, enlarged color guide, blank design (for transferring to your own fabric if you choose), and detailed photograph showing you “how Kate did it.”
